The main objective of the conference, think.BDPST, is to provide a regional platform for high-level representatives of the governmental, academic, and business sectors to initiate dialogue about the different approaches to innovation and new technologies, including the security, economic, and social dimensions. think.BDPST also offers an opportunity for policymakers to discuss possibilities of fostering smart growth solutions, exchanging experience and best practices, as well as drafting joint action plans.
With initiating such dialogues, the conference aims to boost cooperation, promote the implementation of joint activities, as well as facilitate the formation of strategic partnerships in the Central European region, with special regard to the V4 countries. The conference can greatly contribute to the establishment of a common regional development framework.
During the five panels and many side events of the three-day think.BDPST conference, the following topics will be discussed in greater detail: the role of new industries in creating a sustainable world economy, the challenges of social innovation, the future of professions and the labour market, as well as the connected issue about the future of education. This year, special attention is given to life science, biotechnology, as well as the way innovation and technology change our perception of medicine and healthcare. Accordingly, two distinct panels focus on innovation in healthcare services and the role of new technologies in cancer research.
The colourful side events of the conference will enable multi-stakeholders in attendance to participate in networking and immerse themselves into topics they are most interested in.
Our intention is to create, in form of an expo, Start-up and Innovation Corner which would provide us with an opportunity to reach out to the civil organisations, start-ups, and companies working in the field of innovation, research and development, so as to urge them to present themselves to the audience, as well as find business partners and create powerful synergies.
The Young Leaders’ Forum (YLF) will feature outstanding young professionals, soon to become important actors and decision-makers in the field of innovation, research and development. During the three-day event, the participants will have the opportunity to improve their leadership skills with the help of professional trainers. In the form of interactive workshops, YLF offers a platform to exchange their best practices, experience, and ideas with the aim of creating a common standpoint on the main topics of the conference.
Combined with a reception, the opening sequence of the many programmes accompanying the conference will be a concert by a renowned ensemble from the V4 countries.
The involvement of key actors from many sectors and their elaborate discussions on issues such as research, development, and innovation will most certainly attract the attention of the media, national and international alike. think.BDPST will assist Hungary and the region in claiming their place on the map of high technologies and also facilitate the process of creating value-adding jobs and investments both in the region and in Hungary.
